When I converted to Christianity at 18, I did not give up my Mensa-level mind. It is a great error to believe that “doctrine divides, but love unites.” Just the opposite: the goal of all our teaching (doctrine) is love (1 Timothy 1:5), and it is false doctrine that divides. I do not know quite where the dividing line is, but I have always known that it was a line I did not want to cross. So I have always had a keen interest in Biblical Orthodoxy. If you want to know what I believe, read the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms. Alternately, you can read the Three Forms of Unity (the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Synods of Dordt). They are a faithful summary of Bible doctrine and I own them as the confession of my faith.
